It’s weird that the general public somehow thinks of a Miata as an effeminate automobile. Kinda weird that people think that way in the first place, but it’s one of the best cars made in the last few decades and prized by very many “big men” this one included.

Seems like people who live there were probably tired of cars driving too fast and didn’t give a damn about the cyclists who think the road is a great race track. Or maybe they were just tired of cyclists thinking that the road they live on is a race track. Or some combination of the two.
Sounds like you don’t know the area. It might be worth a peek on google maps. It’s an uninhabitated sand island on an almost closed bay. The road is a loop

I know a (rather large) guy who was bombing down a hill on his fatbike and crashed into a Rav-4. He ended up with a bunch of stitches in his arm, but no lasting damage. The car got totaled.

It’s a cool car not worthy of derision that gets oddly characterized as effeminate by some folks.
it’s a great car. the people who drive them are just super sensitive to being made fun of over them. they also seem to be exclusively driven by big men, which makes calling it a big man car even funnier to me. I mean, i remember you being pretty huge, and my friend with two is well over 6 feet.
It’s basically a motorcycle for people who still want to be on 4 wheels.
I mean, I used to drive a Dodge neon, but I never tried to attack anyone who made fun of it.

I flipped him off because he went flying through the crosswalk I was planning to use.
I was disappointed with myself that I didn’t manage to get him far enough away from his car that I could double back for the keys.
