Alien Bike Build Up Thread

ok… i’m not really feeling the look of the tange headset.

My roommate has the tange on his fuji and it looks and functions great.

it just looks crummy in the pic i posted

I’ll post one when I get home tonight.

will this work?

the thing has so may friggin numbers in the description & joseph told me
“27.0 JIS with 32-34mm stack.”

Brakes: SRAM TT levers connected to shimano rx100 brake and a bell

bottom bracket: sugino

(my first wheel build!)
tires: michelin lithion

Seatpost: Shimano 600

now for some tarck photoboth pics:

I demand better photos!
That build might look nice but it might not. I can’t tell from thos pictures.
Don’t you own a real camera.
The advent of the cellphone camera is single handedly destroying photography.
[/rant]

Don’t have a better camera, it’s the camera on my computer. I’ll try to get on it.

i too, demand that pictures be taken outside or at least in a well lit area where the color from the frame doesnt taint the wall.

Get a real camera damnit.
Some little pinhole in the top of your computer screen is never gonna take decent pictures.
A decent digital PAS camera is like 150bux. BUY ONE!!!

I know that the pictures/camera are shitty but its better than nothing. I’ll try to borrow a camera from a friend later. Also, Artblur, that headset should work. It has a 32.7 stack height and a 27.0 crown race.

ah. thank u

i have a cheap 12 dollar tange head set in my yamaguchi it works fine
just as good as teh hatta swan that was in my bstone
just adjust it correctly
there is no reason to buy a $100 plus headset
unless its just for bling

also tange makes an njs headset too that should be JIS and cheaper than a hatta

sugino RDs use a 103 spindle

a 53 tooth ring might not clear the chain stay on your new frame

Yeah, that headset’ll work. It’s kind of a cool collector’s item, but i personally think it’s ugly looking and would still go with the tange.

also might as well just buy the headset at teh bike shop
unless you are going to press teh cups in yourself

exactly, an excuse to buy another bike tool!

make sure you know what you’re doing
or else you could be refacing a headtube lug
ala
that one ugly razesa on bsnyc

hence having the tool for the job. last time i set a headset i used an old book and a hammer.

JESUS CHRIST FUCK!!!
