All things NuMTB thread, now lower longer and slacker

Probably fine with 28h. Pretty sure that is what the specialized wheels are. And it took riding out a flat to really do anything to the rim after a few years on the enduro.

low key looking out for some take-off roval carbon rimz with dt 3 pawl to convert

been on my 28h reserves for so long now i am just convinced they are invincible. i dont want to know what would happen if i went back to a more delicate wheel.

i did break one spoke once, but it was like JRA on a flat part of trail.

Hey @Crustradamus lemme know if you go to Creek again this year. I’ve been meaning to go have a nice day under biking.

lol I think I have the opposite problem?

I’m looking for some cheap good 28h 29er rims for a build, dictated by the Schmidt Connectorless fork and having one of those 28h hubs that Canyon was dumping

As long as you have a problem!

@Jacobell i definitely will. Gosh that place is sketchy and rocky but it is close and it is fun. Late September/early October let’s do it.

@frank_doktor you too if you’re still east-coastal. Who else is around here? @jeffro ? If we can rope @curiousincident into this it would be quite a party.

Yeah, still here. Will be for a year. Just did Thunder, Killington, and Highland. Could probably be down for some Creek. Only did the race there this year.

I ordered the alchemy. In the sand/orange

Not sure I’ve ever seen a bike with five different paint jobs and yet so few color options lol

Grey, different grey, again a more different grey. And glitter red.

Don’t forget the two slightly different oranges and a tan. Which is sort of a greyish orange.

It feels like they wanted to do grey and orange but couldn’t decide on the exact swatch to pick so they just ordered a run of all of them.

and then they also did that metallic red. Which would be better with white letters or something. Like an old Italian frame

quordle know whats up

That was one hell of a race, all round…

Vali and Loic just completely dominated those races, especially in the technical sections. Nobody else felt close. That was incredible to watch.

I may have said it before, but I really feel like we could be on the cusp of an era of Vali dominance similar to Rachel’s best years. She’s only 20 and she’s this strong. It already feels like she’s at the level where she can win without a perfect run and when she puts a whole run together, it doesn’t feel to me like anyone else is going to come close.

I guess it depends a bit on how much Cami Balanche continues to improve, since the leaps she’s made over the last few years are pretty astounding.

I’m here for it. I love her style on the bike and she seems like a really nice kid. With more experience, she’s going to be putting together whole race weekends more and more often.

Loic was really next-level. The racing otherwise was so tight, it was just bonkers how much time he got in between 1 and 2.
And to Vali, seeing her already get through some of the steep learning curve of dealing with crashes, not ‘living up to her full potential,’ and otherwise overcoming parts of that internal and external pressure has been cool to see, and her her talk about.

PFP was also on another level.
Piddles looked like he overcooked himself moving up from the 5th row start, so no chance to match PFP for mtb, cross, and road worlds in a 12 month period.

Olli’s 6th place is really really big for Swedish DH which haven’t seen any riders in the top 25 in the WC since waaay back in the late 90’s-early 00’s when Robin Wallner (of more EWS fame than DH riding) was trying to get in the mix but never really did any big results outside of the EU-champs.
I mean he flippin beat: Gwin, Minnaar, Hart, Coulanges, Shaw and a whole slew of regular heavy hitters. Sost oked for the lad!

I don’t know, I think that’s pretty cool. The only time my bike gets that far off the ground is when I pick it up to put it on the roof rack.
