Sorry to double-dip but where were all the really edgy nonsense downhill jerseys this year? I’m kinda disappointed. Would love to find some zebra print or whatever of years past.

dharco has all kinds of leopard print shit?

but yeah only tie dye and neutrals are in style and i am for it at the moment.

What bars and stem combo should I buy?

Burgtech? I want 20mm rise and 40mm stem

Do you want colored components?

Black is ok

The Race Face stuff is serviceable. I have the Aeffect-R cockpit on one of my bikes. It’s just all black everything, but it’ll hit the exact numbers you’re looking for.

I’ve had Chromag and Diety stuff. I’m not sure if you can get that on the other side of the globe, however. I know some people that ride the Burgtec stuff and are happy with it. I think all three offer a 35 mm or 50 mm length for their stems and a 25 mm rise on the bars, though.

I have a deity cockpit that i dig, but it’s a 35mm stem. I just went wth this stuff because the 35mm carbon bars i had before were too stiff so i got these 31.8 carbon bars and corresponding stem right before they came out with all 35mm bars and stems.

a quick tale of trying to get a truss fork from james at black sheep:

may 10th i pay for fork. i never ask about timeline.

june 10th i inquire about timeline. i get left on seen for several days then get a response that he just recently got back from tahoe and will be working on my fork that week and should be finished by friday. great.

early august - still no word on fork. i reach out. hes waiting for parts from paragon, asks if he can make titanium fork instead of steel fork i ordered for same price. i’m frustrated about lack of communication but happy im getting ti for steel prices. he says “if i can do it in ti i can get it done in 10 days.” awesome.

10 days pass. no fork, no word.

30 days pass. no fork, no word. i reach out. five days later, he responds, says that hes waiting on a steerer from project 321, then says he can probably just make the part he needs in house. should be ready to ship by the weekend.

10 more days pass. i reach out. says hes still waiting on steerer. apparently abandoned all intent of making steerer in house. tells me i can ship monday if i do a different fork (deathsplosion). i say i’ll take deathsplosion if its already made and ready to ship. get left on read for 2 hours.

finally say fuck it and ask for my money back. receive money back in less than a minute (seriously it was like 40 seconds). no apology.

purchase chinese carbon fork. end of story.

wow rockbros makes mtb pants lol

$40 for things that I’m going to destroy seems pretty optimal

Sorry you went through that and good for you for not publicly calling him out on the internet

This story seems to be really common with small builders. As nice as it is to support american labor, is it really worth the headache?

wow i might just have to

Don’t sleep on FORBEMK either

edit: definitely some TAF options out there in amazon land lol

i bought some shitty amazon cycling pants. they’re so unbreathable they’re basically unusable also. do not recommend.

That’s what I read about these, which seem to be sold under a dozen different nonsense names

I got some non amazon nonsense brand pants too and will compare. I’ve got some faith in Rockbros (though I’ve never dinged one of their bells) and the FORBEMK

Amazon clothes are sized weird and cut wrong. No thank you.

I still have my $25 Fly MTB pants. The only bummer is the backs are mesh below the knee, so the back half of my lower leg gets muddy.

I got a pair of these, seem like they are going to hold up for a long time.
