Damn, ten years seems like 50 in mountain bike evolution.
Absolutely. The geo of this bike looks absurd now. I remember loving how it rolled over small bumps and rough stuff, but hating anything steep one way or the other.
The head tube angle was 70.5Âș. In hindsight thatâs insane.
The Banshee has 5mm shorter chainstays and 105mm longer wheelbase, meaning the front is over 4-1/2" longer. And a 66Âș head tube.
Montaña de Oro?
Yep, thatâs the place
Did my first group ride with some of the bike school instructors. Oh boy. I think itâs gonna be a fun summer. When you meet your new âbossâ to shuttle laps with their 7-bike velocirax⊠Knocked out about 5,000 ft of descending in 3 laps at one of my favorite local trail areas. I felt great by lap 2 and 3. Never been able to hit that descent without being wiped from the climb before.
needs curly bars
Finally watched the DH race. Looks like a fun course. Mother country did not disappoint. Unfortunate slip-up by the last starter but I donât think the course was gnarly enough for him anyway.
Dak went for a new line. Risky shit when that slippy.
But glad the course delivered. was a lot of hate with initial photos or videos.
It looked really bike parky at first, but there seemed to be enough tricky stuff to cause lots of crashes, especially as the riders destroyed the track.
I mean he had his best quali/semi results to date right? I donât recall him ever putting down a #1 time before this so i thing it suited him fine.
Heâs been on such a slow rise to the top though, which i really appreciate, so i hope it works out for him and we see him on the top step at some point this year.
how low is too low for a bottom biscuit height on a hardtail 29er? i installed this hunter fork over the weekend and my bb seems dangerously low at around 280mm.
Thatâs gonna scrape.
For me, anything lower than 330 is pedal strike land with 170 mm cranks.
just ride it and see if it sucks, Iâve had a super low bb due to undersized tires and yeah the cranks bounce off every rock goin up but it feels great on the downhill
Did a quick search and didnât find anything on thisâŠ
What bags are yall using for phone, keys, wallet on the mtb? Now that I have a bike that has a bottle cage Iâm trying to stop using a fanny pack. I think a little bar bag could be cool if it doesnât bounce around too much.
Cargo shorts
Under the top tube
Fanny pack
Why no fanny pack? I love mine and I like to know that my wallet and phone are on me in case I get ejected from my bike.
I am also thinking about a new fanny pack so I can carry additional water, I think I want one that carries a bottle rather than a bladder but I donât want it to be huge. Any reccomendations/
