Speaking of Z2 Bombers it looks like I get to have another one warrantied due to bushing play.
Yeah those are just Fox forks with different graphics
x-post
When I was hoarding m-8000 brakes on eBay when they got cheap ish I accidentallied a front from some jackass in the uk and rode with an upside down lever for like 9 years
no u bleed
Yeah prolly just be careful when you pull the hoses from the levers
Listening to mtb bros talking about more flexy frames and ācompliantā rims. Kinda hilarious considering usually the advertising copy goes in the other direction. Everyone getting Jan Heineād chasing that planing. I remember having an argument here about carbon vs alu rims because a fast guy I know prefers the latter. Carbon rims: out. Stanās noodles: in.
they can talk all they want but all i know is that when my front wheel hits a rock and deflects off course because thereās flex in the rim or fork (pre thru axle) that feels BAD.
A decade ago my fast shop bro friend claimed he only ever wanted alu rims because he could get them to flex into corners and get more traction.
Sounds like you need tire inserts my friend.
The single wall zipps are apparently amazing
I think my carbon mtb wheels flex plenty.
Theyāve survived 7 seasons, including this year where i did something like 1,200 miles and 350,000 ft of descending at the park, with only 1 broken spoke and no rim damage. I donāt run tire liners either.
Iām afraid to run any other wheels for fear that my run of luck will end.
I assume youāre relatively light?
145-155ish, so relatively.
But dented the last two sets of alloy rims pretty well before i bought reserves.
Ooh reserves. I guess they made some good wheels to go with that warranty!
Finally re-stroked this damn shock and got a spring in my ballpark weight. Cascade components link came out of the box it has been sitting in for 3 years. Old aluminum frame came out of the corner of my garage that is has been sitting in since the new year.
Only thing I need is brakes. Perhaps a longer dropper, but I figure this seatpost can just stay slammed lol.
Kinda cool video about Black Rock.
Theyāre moving the parking area to reduce some of the friction with the easement through the religious youth camp for property access. I havenāt heard when thatāll be done, but probably by the spring.
because i love numbers, i tallied up all my park days for the season
total days: 60 (57 at trestle, 1 at steamboat, 2 at snowmass)
distance: 1,438.61 mi
descent: 376,507 ft
(also i bought this photo of myself about to eat it in a race; it was only $10 which is very reasonable for a digital download. thereās like one more frame after this where my foot is off and my wheelās starting to go up in the air but itās not quite pivotal crash action so i bought this one).
Felt good. Shout out @Blakey for the stay
