What gen

Yer just meant to strap soft bags all over whatever mtb strikes your fancy. The last one I built up is a China carbon frame with an xc fork so that if I ever get to do bikepacking again it’ll be easier to deal with at an airport due to lower weight.

Tumbleweeds, Joneses, maybe the new Hudski, of course Fargos

though to paraphrase any bike is a touring bike if you’re brave enough

Looking at some of the bikes that finished the Oregon Timber Trail, this is definitely the case.

how does this differ from a bikepacking bike?
i.e. Marin Bikes | Pine Mountain 2

All bikes are bike packing bikes?

Idk, I was looking at the current HT geometry

Looks like this
HTA 66-69
STA 73-75
CS 420-430
Bb drop 5.5-8
AC 483 (depends)
Rake 44-51 (everything)

feeling pretty ok at bikes after big whistler weekend.
my lil bike (150/160) 27.5 w/ coil and big ol dominions on it honestly is fucken wonderful.
18k feet on one day at the bike park and no claw hands or major body complaints.

SRAM: Fuck it. We’re doing six pistons!
Shimano: Two pistons should be good enough for anybody.

Shimano: why would we want six pistons when we can make it leak just as much with only two?

Hope: We’re sensible, four pistons when you need 'em, two when you don’t. Ignore that ever-so-slight squealing noise, it’s not important.

wait is SRAM doing six pistons somewhere?

hope has dabbled:

Lewis too. Sold as a Surron brake I think.

It was a play on the Onion’s Gilette razors spoof.

Despite being terminally online, I have not seen those Hope calipers.
