Anyone waiting on a bareknuckle?

small-ish builder of nice frames distributed by a company that like 6 guys (awesome and helpful ones at that) is an economy of a different scale that Walmart and Dell.

Still waiting direct from EAI. If it doesn’t come this Friday I’m dropping the order.

The only people I see riding those things around here are girls.

ooh! ooh! I ride one, and I’m not a girl!!!
if anyone has their heart set on a BK and rides a 54 (this means you ride a 55-58 normally), hit a brother up. I might be interested in trying something new.

i have a fuji track 54 right now, should i go with a 52?

You’re sure you’re not a Filipina?

if you measure the standover on your fuji track, I can measure it on my 54cm BK and we can compare if you’d like. If the 52 is all up in ur nutz on a cold day, I’d go for a 52, but if it’s a little on the smaller side, a 54 should be fine.

I’m one hunerd per-sent 'merican man.
ooh rah!

I drew out the BK geometry on a sheet of paper, over the top of the geometry of my POS Puch. The 50 cm BK top tube was almost exactly aligned with my 52 cm Puch top tube, when you take into account the differences in bottom bracket heights, and the 27" wheels I have on the Puch. I ordered the 50 cm based on this (still waiting though god dammit).

Also, I think the 50 cm BK has a 53 cm top tube, which is the same as on the 52 cm Gunnar Roadie I’m riding now. I think top tube length is a better quick-and-dirty bike-fit metric for those times you are actually riding and not standing there waiting for a light to change.

the standover height is 77.5 and top tube length of 55. i really want to get the right size, even though its likely im not gonna be able to find one with the luck the rest of u guys are having.

Sigh, I recall the days when I was stoked on ordering a 50cm BK, but with the recent wait/price jump, I’m over it.

EMAIL FROM EAI:

Please note official Bare Knuckle top tube lengths and stand over heights as follows. Stand over dimension measured with 700c 23mm clincher tires.

48 = 520 x 762mm
50 = 530 x 778mm
52 = 540 x 800mm
54 = 550 x 819mm
56 = 565 x 838mm
58 = 575 x 860mm
60 = 585 x 876mm
62 = 595 x 895mm

Very best regards,

for those of you with questions about sizing.

i ride a 54 BK and it feels more like a 56-57. when im standing over the TT, its grazing the boys. but it fits me perfect while im riding.

now that i know the sizing, it’d be nice to find a place where i can get it for a reasonable price…

Called EAI today. My frame ships today.

For anyone who is waiting patiently for a BK or has given up because of the wait and/or cost, you should look into something by Tom Teasdale.

You can get yourself a custom frame (without fork) by a master builder for about equal the cost of a BK.

lolz. I’m bumping this in a week to ask if you’ve got it yet.

Don’t worry. I’m going to have it all dolled up for a photo op by the time I get it.

:bear:

I just got a call from thebikebiz stating that they finally got these frames in. They should be sending my frame out Today or Monday. They called me about a technicality with respect to the headset that I’m having them press. They might not be calling people who ordered the frame unmolested.

My frame just came in today. Give me a week and I’ll have it fgg worthy

i like how you never mentioned you got the frameset for like 200$
