Whatever. That happened two years ago. I took all the shifter bits out and now I use the brake levers on my Trek with barcons.
All is well.
Also, I did bend it back and continue to use it but it never shifted right again.(not that first gen Rival front shifting ever shifted right ^in the first place)
No wonder it’s been coming loose lately.
Not asploded, still annoying.
