My dad-biker has amassed a pretty respectable collection of robot and disc free rigs in the last few decades. There’s a 50th anniversary colnago c50 and a custom carbon Serotta rotting away upstairs, and a nice Naked for -pure road-
Out in storage somewhere is a softshock Litespeed mtb (the inspo for the Moots) which has evolved to have touring tires and an AMP Research linkage fork.

Saw a kid who looked like he rode here directly from paying blue lug to bolt everything in the store together
A gen z Latina with braids riding a stock out of the box spotless Klein attitude no chain rub. Larger than stock chainrings and maxis dth’s
Spotless chrome and red Raleigh flat bar conversion rolling on the 27’s with stock gear

i’m gen z, i know lots of gen z girls, we all love vintage mtb’s. There’s a group ride here that’s pretty much all gen z and it’s like 90% vintage mtb’s with baskets.
