If you’re looking for stuff to jump and you have really good health insurance–there’s a “jump” park in Belmont above Carlmont High School that’s essentially an mini-air dh course.

I’ve looked and looked to no avail. Came to the conclusion that the only way I’d be able to find it is to make friends with some flat brimmed cap bros and I’m not willing to go that far.[/quote]

want directions?

montclair railroad trail on google maps. its by the big power line tower (or grey box in non google earth mode)

Gearhead bikes in Pacifica had a pump/jump track. Don’t know if it’s still there.

Imma check that out.

I’m check that out. Thanks!
in other news, I’m just now discovering how rad the Oakland hills trails are. side-o is pretty sweet.

My friend used to love side-o because he could shuttle on the bus.

:bear:

Side-O and JMP were the two tracks that got me into shuttlebro mtb life.

it’s not even a long ride to the top, there’s only like 2 steep sections and the whole loop starting from mid Berkeley is only an hour and a half.
but shuttling is fun.

It’s hard for me to maintain this beer gut if I keep pedaling places…

But when the Steve shuttle is running, it’s hard not to pile in

You go all the way up to steam trains?

I should do Side-O some day.

yes

After we ride Demo tomorrow, we’ll do sideo next week!

I don’t have a bike worth a shit.

Does Mike’s rent bikes?

If you’re going down to Santa Cruz, contact Another Bike Shop on Mission St in Santa Cruz. You’ll have to potentially deal with some bros with attitudes, but they have the best demo bike selection. Santa Cruz bikes might also have demo bikes, but I’m not sure what hoops you’d have to jump through to get your hands on one. I have a buddy who works there (or did six months ago), so I can ask him if you’d like?

There’s a place in Campbell that rents bikes and wouldn’t be too far out of the way. The name escapes me at the moment. We rented a carbon blur for Marci there once

I’ll check out the place in Campbell. Not sure if that would work out for me as I’d have to pick it up Thursday and return it Monday. I’ll ask, though.

Alameda Bikes rents bikes, but they need a $4k credit card authorization. I don’t even have a card with a $4k limit.

Oh wait… I have an Amex. Might give that a whirl. Still, seriously, though? $4k auth for a bike?

If you ever want to grab something on your way to Skeggs or Waterdog (riding distance), Passion Trail has a selection of demo bikes.

I’m out. Work issue. Maybe kinda sorta my fault. Fixed one thing last night and broke another. Good times.
