They look like promising saddles. I should try this one before I pass it along.
I ordered the 13cm one. I normally ride a 127mm saddle so it should be good. I am interested in the concept even though I don’t currently have anything I NEED to work on per se, I am just fine with being modestly uncomfortable because that’s just life, but maybe it will be one of those night and day why have I been silent to this my whole life sort of revelations.
Yeah, I’m pretty good on a regular Antares. I’d like a little more room for my soft tissues and would like to be able to rotate my pelvis forward a bit more.
In theory, the differences between the two saddles should facilitate that. 15cm may be too wide for me, though.
if you try it out and find that it is hit me up and I can loan you mine for a month. Assuming I keep it, I wouldn’t care to go back to my fabric for a little bit.
Well, I tried it and it’s… Pretty good. Definitely too wide. Kinda forces anterior rotation of the pelvis like they claim. Encourages lumbar extension. I’m wondering how it’d feel after several hours in the saddle.
On the Antares, when I got really low in the drops, I realized I couldn’t rotate my hips as far forward as I liked. Didn’t have that on the SQLabs saddle.
Mine comes today. I have workouts in the trainer the next 4 days so I’ll get plenty of time on it.
This is something that’s particularly interesting. It kinda feels like I’m sliding forward, but I’m not, and there’s less pressure on my hands. Definitely odd compared to other saddles I’ve tried.
Current position is pretty aggressive and I think that limited anterior pelvic rotation is the thing that caused me some lower back pain after three hours in the saddle. If that’s truly the issue and this corrects it, I’m sold.
this saddle allows for so much pelvic rotation without smushing my taint. I rode it on my zwift ride tonight for an hour and my nobs on my pelvis were a little sore but I had no numbness and it’s 15 minutes later and my whole butt feels fine.
so far a good purchase.
In this crü
Measured my sit bones 5 or 6 times. Being a man of substance, always assumed my ass was wider. Guess not.
Imma have a 15cm 612 ergowave up for grabs as my ass is clearly not that wide. HMU if anyone wants to try it (price is free aside from the pain that it takes me forever to ship things).
I just realized that the active saddle exists and I have the regular one. I like it fine though.
Described here:
More of a comfort/leisure cycling thing, IMHO.
The amount of time I spend on the trainer is driving me toward trying the active version as well
I would try this out of curiosity if I were local, but shipping is such a pita that I don’t want you to deal with it
Nah, I’ll ship it. DM me your address.
I’m also curious about the SQlab saddle. I’ll take it if @cheese passes (or tries it and doesn’t like it).
Sure.
Just to be clear, this one is 15cm, which is pretty wide, so measure your sit bones.
the Argo I have is 150 also so I’m interested in comparing shapes and cutout vs dimple. can send to @earwig when I’m done too
