I think a few of the new rivendells have done this already
p.sure only the tandem
the bike we’re talking about is 9/8" threadless:
but the lady name version is 1" threaded:
Is anyone else dying to know Grant’s thoughts on the “OK Boomer” thing?
There’s a NOS Riv frame for sale on my local CL that reminded me of when Rivs used to be pretty… and, like, a thing you would actually want.
I wish Grant would split the difference and just commit to mech discs. Like the rear routing there could have been downtube to chain stay and helped keep the lines clean and nice
One of the older rivs with fancy fancy lugs and all the 2-tone paint but with fat tires and discs would be my dream bike.
*if I couldn’t just make that but I did that but fillet and a few other changes please I am drunk thank you
Those names are hateful
you have to buy the fenders riv makes with a channel cut out for the brakes.
“Future proof”
So what, Riv should have put the bridge low enough to clear the brake (and rub the tire)?
May as well. Everything else is already bungled.
That’s their use case for cantis.
And of course the selection for 29+ fenders is slimmer than rim-brake wide rims.
Flat fenders, maybe, like those wooden ones that were popular a decade or so ago?
Since grant lives in the Bay Area, he probably doesn’t understand why anyone would need to put fenders on one of their bikes.
He does seem like the kind of person who can’t fathom anything he hasn’t personally experienced
