Is this just what getting old is like?
I think I’m cracking up
Am I just paranoid?
Or am I just stoned?
This is also me
I really liked the hardtail with the mottled black paint job and framebag with flames. That little detail of chrome made me think ‘70’s muscle car’. The dude’s glorious mullet sold it even harder.
The rest? Some chill bikes I’d ride, but a lot more ‘too much for me’.

i’m kind of over Bikes. still love riding them but dgaf about the latest unless it’s weird compatibility stuff
I like riding my bikes in the dirt in little loops, beyond that I’m completely disinterested.

Is this just what getting old is like?
Nah, it’s just the younger generations who are into bikes being less into conspicuous consumption, and preferring normie bikes with function/performance benefits, which are not surprisingly, actually good bikes
And also simply being done with amateur racing/TdF cosplay bikes being shoved down our throats. Thank you Surly Grant for fun bikes

Strong disagree
See: 1993 rockhopper that is 2 sizes too small with Paul brakes, white industries hubs and cranks, ultra dynamico tires.
I meant the ones with the income and desire to spend on fancy bikes that would be featured at these shows. Xbiking is the new fixie. Also people seem to be more into limited product drops than bespoke products. Maxway factory go brrrr
There will always be Surly/Grant/Maxway riders who like tinkering more than actual riding.
To some to dither is divine, or whatever, but give me an hour of sweet spot laps over an hour of trying to make incompatible shit ordered off the internet work together.
i just want to be able to keep using sram 2x mechanical shifters. that’s the main dither i am interested in. sweet spot laps sound nice though- not sure i remember what those are like, but they sure sound nice
In me, there are two bears:
- If you can’t go fast, look good
- It’s a tool, not a jewel
Currently, both are gorging themselves on salmon.
lest we forget of the time that @oogens and i came up with the btchn bikes dropper bike.

wheres his dropper oury grips, huh? bush league.
Travel mini velo idea

Damnit I clicked this link and completely forgot about it… until I loaded up the family to drive to the park and it started auto playing! M let out an audible “wtf are you listening to” and I had to explain waves hands this whole thing
everyone switched from being into fancy bikes to nordic skiing

Same. Lots of compatibility with this stuff, especially with the ratio add ons, and old school mtb stuff. Im not parting with any of my 3 sets.
i think the dangler is the weak point. i just want 2x exact actuation double tap with clutch forever
Sram is a funny company. I’m with you though. Love the ergonomics of mechanical Sram22. Hate the lack of clutched rear derailleurs.
With all of the Shimano-compatible shenanigans Microshift has gotten up to I’m surprised they haven’t taken a stab at this.
didn’t sram publish a eulogy for the front derailleur? it was for mtb (and i agree there), but
i’m looking towards the s-rides and the ltwoos of the world for this one but idk if the market is there
So far I’m pretty unimpressed with the upstarts. With Cues drop bar almost on the water they may not matter anyway. At least for the budget minded.
