What if that traditional geo aluminum rigid mountain bike with rim brakes was built by Frank the Welder, and got featured on influential cycling blogs? Hmmmm?
there is no way that bike weighs 22lbs
too bad there’s no strve emojis over here
Didn’t he stop selling bags?
I love my Starling Murmur on trails but it’s a bit of a bummer to pedal around anywhere else. But my “ATB”/whatever bike is fun on pavement, dirt, most singletrack, etc.
new guy said atb.
to akron ohio with you.
I’m disappointed it doesn’t have toe clips.
riding with suspension lets you choose more lines.
because now more lines are available to you! folks like options!
The CT bagmaking operation got shuttered. Production moved to VT.
I think it is telling that there is a lot of story telling before you get to the bike. He wants you to understand his story. Because that is what he is really selling.
Cool bike, but 2200$? Gtfo
oh. i didn’t look at the price tag because i wasn’t gonna buy it. i assume that is the frameset price
Clock right twice a day and all, pvd’s opinion garbage pail bikes is true story
yeah, that doesnt even take into account having to build it up with paul and king parts.
I’ve seen families on Walmart bikes there.
They won’t let you on the lift without discs afaik
Another buddy did succeed some years ago:
Telling the park staff that the rim IS a disc, the biggest practical disc on the wheel, and mechanically it has a theoretical advantage over a hub-mounted brake as they haul me away
Unless you’re trying to win races — what is mountain biking about but having fun? So if it’s more fun to be on some kind of dumb bike vs a “better” one, then go for it ATMO!
I started riding trails on a SSCX trying to keep up with FS (or fat bikes in the snow). It was fun but I ran a lot. Then I got a SS hardtail which was more fun down hill and could get some air but I still had to run a lot. Then I got a nicer hardtail with gears which is even more fun downhill and I don’t have to run unless I really feel like it. Maybe a FS would be even more fun. But now I have a baby and haven’t ridden my mountain bike in two years so who really cares?
