Perpetual Butter Cow

Without looking it up, I’d guess it was part of some Cow Parade nonsense.

So I put together two bikes in Jan/Feb of this year. Just added up the other one and total cost was within $40 for both of them. Which makes sense on the surface but not really when looking at how different the builds are. Pretty close to perfect swap between the prices of the frame and fork between the two.

Sad that these sorts of goofy el cheapo builds are dead for the foreseeable future.

mildly amusing

Sadly, those that knew who I was didn’t want to help me.

Isn’t it funny that the 40 or so media folks that I walked past didn’t seem at all interested in bicycle design.

So, I gather he’s insufferable?

I mean, the blog screams ‘obsessive crank’, and the kit… just screams.

But what’s he actually like?

For me it’s the delightful self-unawareness and hypocrisy that puts me off. For a lot of other people, it’s his arrogance. Everything’s either garbage or genius, and usually he’s the genius.

It’s definitely his arrogance and ego/thinking he’s the smartest bike person ever and everyone else is an idiot. Just from reading his blog I’d go out of my way to avoid him in person.
