They are working on an exclusive dropper model. I saw it when i visited them. I think I can make it work by reducing the mechanism tension where it basically just pulls but doesn’t hold, but I haven’t had a chance yet to try it out.

fuggin sux dude. It’s all so dumb. We were fine absorbing Mango’s first tariffs during his first term. And if they were going to be truly reciprocal (2-10%), we were prepared to eat it again. But this is out of control. No choice but to raise prices when the math doesn’t work anymore. Outside of bikes, this will affect everyone’s day to day.
I’m working on a blog post with some thoughts on this.

yeah it’s ridiculous all around… I don’t know how you’re planning to handle it but as a consumer I would want to see item prices unchanged but with a tariff impact surcharge applied, so I understand that the final cost isn’t due to corporate greed like during the late pandemic supply chain time. regardless it’s going to impact sales as people probably choose to hold off on bike purchases if the penalty is like 30%

Yea I feel you. If it makes you feel any better, our plan is that the actual $ margin stays the same. So it won’t actually be 32% increase overall. We’ll at least have to absorb some of the impacts. But we’ll see. hopefully the republicans wake up and see that this is fd up and it’ll hurt their chances in the midterms. I had a family member call me and ask how I’m doing and they apologized for voting for T. They didn’t think it would be like this. And I told her he’s doing exactly what he said. Everything short of “i told you so”.

I almost feel like you shouldn’t absorb any impact on principle though that might hurt sales more than help— as a business owner being in the position to clearly show people the consequences of their choices is not enviable

The same thing happened here. I may have mentioned this earlier, but I just found out that 2 twats at my work stood for the most right wing side of the 3 party coalition of chaos which is currently mismanaging our country, and of course the govt has made massive cuts to public servants. One of these twats lost his job. Good work turkey!

Is the 1x deore rear dangler you used in the photos a long cage one Igor?
I was thinking about putting aside the GRX 1x version, because I heard that it worked in 2x mode as well. But it hadnt occurred to me that a deore or xt might also work.
It’s a 1x derailleur which shouldn’t technically work, but it does. Though it has some trouble reaching the 10t, but tbh, I’m not that fast.
