Bike blerg thread

Ugh U rite. Damn.

I’m really curious if they investigated 36ers and it was just a bridge too far. They already existed and had some small parts availability.

But maybe the math simple didn’t work out in terms of BB area design compromises or added weight or geometry for small riders or whatever. Or maybe some parts manufacturers balked. Like (totally guessing) maybe the tire/rim/fork manufacturing can be adjusted to fit 32 parts but 36 was too much?

It’s funny after all the time and effort I still do not grasp Imperial/Metric conversion well.

I looked up the BSD for 36" and was like “WTH it’s 100mm more than 32” that’s crazy"

I know Trek was playing with 36ers.

Is this public yet?

I have never had an issue with QR disc, front or rear. Yep, I posted it on the bike videos thread the other day. Its not a full length thing. Just a few bits that were cobbled together that ended up being 40 mins +.

Inside joke explaination required…

Prolly rant reference in the caption.

Full breakdown above in this thread, 9 days ago. Not an inside joke.

9 days? Lol. I scrolled up two full screens and only got to yesterday. Might as well be from bike forums if it was 9 days ago.

Took me 15 seconds to get up there. Sorry you’re having a hard time.

We all have our own burdens that we, try as we might, fail to overcome. Mine is making an effort.

Young Jan Heine was part of the Eternal September. Here’s his first Usenet post.

lots of n00bs suddenly posting to Usenet as Internet access became widespread.

The name came because there was typically an uptick in new users each September when a new cohort of college freshmen gained Internet access for the first time and started posting without taking time to lurk and learn the norms of netiquette. “Eternal September” was thus a seemingly never-ending onslaught of these folks.
