What lengths you got? How much? Pics?

dude, you’re not gonna get 40 ready-to-go bikes for $400.
He has more than $400 for the original purchases of the 43 bikes. Personally, I think if he got $30-40 per bike he would be lucky. He has only a few weeks to move them so he doesn’t have much leverage.

The one time buy everything would definitely be the best option for all involved. The problem is I think he wants to get want he has into them plus some extra for labor. I don’t really see that happening. If I were to buy them outright I would still want to try and make the standard $100 profit average on each. I am really not worrying about the bikes. Yes, if I got them for a reasonable price I could make some money, but it will be a PITA and maybe take a year to move them all.

That’s kind of what I’m saying. Unless he gets a stupid crazy deal on it, it’s probably not going to be a profitable enterprise, at least not in the short term, and the pain in the ass of dealing with that many bikes wouldn’t be worth it unless it started showing profit fast. Dude with the 43 bikes who needs to get rid of them fast should not expect to be making a profit or even breaking even in this situation.

Life’s too short to work on shitty bikes.

I really do need help. I bought the parts from the flipper today. My bed and cab of my pickup were completely loaded with bike parts. Here is some pics of the haul: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigmatt17073/sets/72157626125172696/. I so far have been pleasantly surprised with some nicer finds in the parts. I am still digging through them and that will probably take days to weeks even.

Holy shit. Got a 26" disc rear wheel you want to get rid of for hella cheap?

Please, don’t send me a PM about what do you have in this size or do you have a " ". Almost all of these are going to be low end bike shop road bikes from the 70’s/80’s, with maybe a few hybrids, cruisers, or basic mountain bikes thrown in. I will be selling them on the local CL only since I doubt none of them are worth the trouble or hassle of shipping anywhere.
yeahyeahyeah

thumb shifters!

nothing disc in the group. It is going to take at least a week or so for me to go through everything. I have dug through the random parts some and pulled out some of the better parts. Cleaning, taking pics, and adding to my ads will take some time.

This one is more fitting:

When you see it for sale in one of my ads here or click linky in sig.
DUDE, I have been searching for 3T Rotundo bars.

sup. I shall commence PM.

I am scheming to acquire more parts at this very moment.

I talked to the 40+ bikes ready to go flipper today. He wanted to do a B.S. split, and I said it wasn’t worth my effort. We also talked about a one time price for all bikes, but we were a good bit apart on prices. At his price I could make money, but not enough for what should end up being a lot of work. He might get a storage unit and sell them himself over time. I think if he actually wants to make a profit that is his only option.

I have been going through the parts I bought from him the last week slowly but surely. There is a lot of general crap and some that will be scrapped out. Some of the decent stuff is finding its way to my for sale ads in chunks, and a few parts for the personal parts stash. I still have a lot more to add in the future.

The cream of the crop was a front and rear C-Record derailleurs that I have up on Ebay.

How has Kemmer not posted here? He must be in denial or unaware.

^lulz. I remember staring in awe at his garage pics a while back.

Garage? He rents a spare shop now that he’s filled to the gills. I swear he’s on the verge of opening his own non-profit co-op to compete with the other local co-op.

I am super stoked on what the C-Record derailleurs got me on eBay. I paid $300 for all of it ($200 parts and $100 for two repair stands) I figured I would have the parts price repaid in a few weeks. All it took was two eBay auctions to repay them! When I talked to the flipper last week about the bikes he mentioned the Campagnolo derailleurs. I did say they are C-Record and said I was going to Ebay them. I didn’t mention they were already on Ebay so hopefully he won’t find out what they ended for.
