tent pole clips makes me think of what I did for my mess bag rack situation. took two delta cargo net clips, drilled for 4"ziptie and attached to the provisions for cross strap. when you have some stuff in the bag it puts them under tension and they stay put v nicely. I want a fancy box bag but this is so secure is so secure and free that I don’t want to buy something til I know it’s gonna be perfect.
Mine are the top clips that I pulled off a decrepit pair of panniers.
No rail in the bag, just a nylock nut and a big washer.

A cut up tube for shimming. Some electrical tape to keep tube in place and on ends of carbon bar to make the bag hooks clamp nice and tight (like one wrap around total). I want to fashion some kind of plug for the end of the tube that might also keep the hooks from coming off the side.

That is the most novel bike part i’ve ever seen
I made mine so the two accessory mounts butt right up against the two Ortlieb mounts, which prevents side-to-side wiggling pretty well, and won’t let the bag fall off. Works pretty well.
