Yeah. Assuming it wasn’t another one of his hallucinations! Crazy.

Mid foot is a myth. Cleats slammed forward is the one true dog.

Streuth !

I’m so confused what is the true foot

My feels are, that If your set-up is correct you dont need it. Correct saddle height and appropriate set-back. But the one time I was afflicted I jammed my cleats back and they have stayed there. It was a last minute saddle change that put me there. Too high.

I’m interacted with more than a couple former runners and they all had their cleats like this - especially if they had smaller feet.

Yes, true for the dh monkeys that use cleats.

Oh well I don’t ride mtb. Track bike on the streets is slammed forward.

with the saddle high and forward too?

straight post but mostly slammed back on that. Not high though. I tend to have as much toe down throughout my rotation as most road fits.

Track on streets is basically intervals

ah shit, I forgot Brantley was racing. I stopped paying attention when my friend had to drop out.

Nope, there’s things happening all over with regards to moving your cleats further backward than “the ball of your foot”.

midfoot gets rediscovered for different cycling styles a few times a decade. So far it hasn’t majorly caught on. It’s interesting that this mtb article describes ball of foot cleat postition as coming from road, most roadies have been pushing their cleats back over the last decade.

I think he is vegan too. So much on at the moment. Buddies were in 15th in the Navad 1000 yesterday. That’s taking a while for 1000 kms.

Hadn’t heard of the Navad 1000, which led me to this list of ultra races

maybe handy for anyone who’s trying to keep track of all of them.
