It sounds like the main goal was to avoid the front end dip under braking. Dave the genius can’t get it into his head that fucking up everything else in exchange for the no-hobby-horsing nirvana is not a worthwhile compromise. That’s my read anyway
to be fair that is an ongoing challenge with anti-dive in f1 especially in the previous ground effect rule set

Agree. I think early suspension designs had people aggravated at squat under pedaling/acceleration and dive under braking.
It’s been a looong time now, but I definitely remember my early full-sus rides and being super annoyed at how I couldn’t just put in a quick pedal stroke to lift the front wheel over a root, at the way any attempt to bunny hop or whatever always meant having to think ahead to overcome the jello squishiness of the bike beneath me. It did not react instantly to anything.
Early suspension sucked, especially in the age when lightweight and snappy climbing performance still mattered, or at least was talked about in magazines.
More singlespeed junk. I just pinged the seller and the bike is still for sale. Could be a neat source of boutique parts, if you are OK with Q/R wheels. They are SS-specific hubs.
