i try to keep my containers on the same continent on which i live, but if you prefer to keep them down there that’s fine i guess

as a net importer around christmas we do end up with a lot of stranded empty boxes, not a shock that @Shiny_squid_green ended up with some here.

I survived, was fun. My legs are still sore.

Need to go to a different solution for the saddlebag as it would contact my tire when dropper post was engaged. Might rogue panda ripsey or be like those before us and run a rear rack.

looks sick. where at?

I like my rear rack most of the time. makes it easy to over pack if you’re rocking mini panniers, though

Would one of those spacers that limits the amount of post drop work?

Kinda, but I’d only be able to drop my post such a small amount it wouldn’t be worth it imo. I like using all of my dropper and riding any tech stuff. I’m using an old revelate bag that is huge which isn’t helping either.

@alp through Anza Borrego loosely around this route

i bought a very small rear bag (i.e. 5L) and just overloaded everything else to still use my dropper at first, but found that this made me over stuffed elsewhere, so i moved to the rack set up. i dont have any bags for my rack yet though and i’m on a hard tail, so i could even put a decent sized dry back on top of the rack and use full dropper. it’s kinda nice to not have the weight up high under the seat.

I would put my quilt or other lightweight items in the seat bag. High volume low weight.

I’ve been trying to read about how to get in better shape to do more adventures like this, but everything I find feels overwhelming. I don’t have any aspirations of winning some event or setting a fkt, but just to get enough fitness to ride it and not be destroyed in the process. Anyone have a very simple workout plan that they wouldn’t mind sharing?

I feel like it is unbearable on day 1, terrible on day 2, and then by day 3 you’re kind of like “ok this is life now” and it’s fine. Every time.

I wrote this plan 10 years ago. They use it on the official TA website. It might help ?

If you want to pay for something I belive Kurt Refsniders stuff is very good.

Am curious how folks come to think of bikepacking as a timed event hobby. Were they doing other kinds of endurance events and want to add in lousy sleep? Were they doing regular bike packing and were needing more forms of challenge?
