No idea. My only experience with them was ass cos the owner didn’t tell you couldnt shift under load! The 32 inch wheels gotta add some weight too.
I think pinion at near 1:1 is pretty normal
I like the mokolos but golly are they heavy.
I wonder if they are ali carbon variants? The bike is going to be heavier than most outta the box, steel, pinion, 32ers.
Are those safe do you reckon?
I really dont know. Rufus is a nerd. He would be the kind of guy who would buy two pair and design a test to failure protocol… im gonna have a look to see if there even is such a bar….
560 grams for an alloy Ali variant.
Edit: which would be lighter than his usual bar with aero bars and pads I guess.
Fake news…. its not his bike. I think its a customers bike.
This is his bike, in his maprogress.com profile anyway. Makes sense. I cant tell if those are 32 inch wheels or not tho?
Whoa, they sure look like 32” wheels, unless he’s on the short side?
Would those horns pass the Leadville sniff test? Hehe.
He’s a tall mofo. Super nice guy. He will be up against it. He was 2nd to his buddy Joe Nation last time, but he has Justinas Leveika and Angus Young at the pointy end as well a whole bunch of people I’ve never heard of. Women’s field looks real competitive too. https://ttw26.maprogress.com/
Maybe Angus is really Number 5 from the Umbrella academy, and he keeps jumping timeframes, back and forward as a Rock Guitarist, Bikepacker, sexy beast, and Minister of Health in New Zealand ?
I’m gonna fight you
thats the spirit
Rufus’s loaded bike. Thats it. Hes wearing a backpack with 2 litres of water in it, and I guess a vest. Pretty minimal.
does he bolt the cleats to the bottoms of his feet? good weight savings there
The cut out on the outside end looks very XT/XTR. But other parts don’t make sense. Maybe the computer editing software got to them and made them look weird.
Insane pace in the TTW. Hooch handed down the smack from the get go but Justina has come back. He seems to have his tracker set to ping at 60 minute intervals which doesn’t help much. Will be interesting to see what happens in the Dampier Range hikeabike. Hooch has only done one bikepacking “race” before and he won by a massive margin. A real mountain man by the look of his background.
