Dammit: Post your bike

I really love this bike. Nothing has changed.

Oh, that’s hot

Dunno if this is a change to an old bike or a totally new bike but I have a crust fork bike now

Threw this together from the “parts bin” for a friend to borrow this month.

Putting a spacer on place of the a cog will get you fakie.

Well, I built the impulse buy replacement for the sequoia. I have no idea how I feel about it, but we’ll see how we feel after some rides. It feels too big to me but also just kinda like a cross bike. Also if someone has a zero-stack dust cap lying around lets chat.

That’s a pretty deep parts bin.

I’ll buy it from you for $500

I wish my parts bin had a Quarq in it.

What am I looking at here?

This thing built up with parts from another bike. I’ve been trying to find something I liked to replace it but nothing really checked all the boxes so I just decided to order something I was sort of curious about and see how it went. I think that might have been a mistake but I’ll know better this weekend

I’m so dumb for leaving the drum brake detached for so long

super tired of my own schtick today so im gonna actually talk about this bike.

built by marino. was supposed to be 73mm bb and boost with clearance for 29x2.2 but due to communication fuckups showed up 68, non boost and clearance for 2.0. it was fine to test and see and think about before “production” run.

its gonna have a 9/8 steerer. marino had limitations on beer can length but not skinny can length, and they needed to be extra long on all sizes. standover was improved too a little. fork is 430mm i think. some folks gonna be all “now i cant run a carbon fork” because of the ht but im pretty sure they dont exist in that length and also shut up use this fork forever.

build list
frame - marino custom 420mm cs 67ht 80bb drop
fork - marino custom boost 430mm with the zits
headset - enforcer branded cheapo that comes with frame
stem - paul
bars - whisky milhouse
brakes - xt
wheels - old bontrager shits that were 100x15 142x12
tires - teravail washburn 700x42
saddle - b17
dropper - e13 vario set at 130 i think
dropper lever - wolftooth mounted backwards
shifting - 1x11 rival with apex shifter
crankset - from friend’s parts bin
rack - orc
basket - wald
thing on top tube - disregard, its an oveja bolt-on now
pedals - time
cages - king probably

its fine. rides fine. ill put drops back on some day when i find the right stem. velo orange one i have now is too long/tall. was super fun as a drop bar “not a mountain bike but im in the woods now and this feels ok” bike.

Is that thing on the top tube where you put the weed at?

good to know.

Also this bike looks very “leaned-back” to me. Maybe it’s the swoopy saddletube but it has serious klunkvibes

also might be the angle of this photo. the safety lean of the wald basket is not helping things either.
