I once owned three at one time, so I’m getting better.
right around 65°
these clowns almost certainly reported unsagged numbers though which is wildly misleading for a long travel hardtail, the actual numbers will be about two degrees steeper
The top tube length options are 620mm, 630mm and 640mm. Reach comes in at 458mm for the 630mm top tube, increasing to around 466mm with the 640mm top tube.
even worse the sizes are Small, Smedium, and Medium when compared to the cockpit dimensions of relatively conservative modern mountain bikes
much better to lengthen the cockpit to stretch the front-center instead
what’s your take on those winspace wheels? i have a demo set on the way and I’m v curious
The quality is definitely impressive. Seems like good qc, freehub feels nice, setup tubeless with 0 fuss. Haven’t ridden them yet though.
My one complaint is that they listed me as a dealer without permission.
they did the same thing to where i work… bold of them to assume we want to deal winning spaces!!
I’m fine doing them as special orders but I have no plan on stocking them or having demos beyond the r45s I bought for myself.
They don’t make that thing anymore? I saw them being made at the factory in 2018. The factory manager was so excited about it and kept showing me them throughout the process even though it had nothing to do with me.
I still kind of love Rivs and I miss my Saluki. Unfortunately I fell for their koolaid and got a 61 when I should have been on a 57 and I’m still kind of mad about that
I am kicking myself for not buying the hot pink Saluki frame that was on eBay a few years ago
This appears to be an obvious scam site. But what if it isn’t!?
I would not trust it.
Two of those three were different sizes of the Sam Hillborne, a 62cm and a 58cm, because yeah I also bought into their sizing advice even after emailing them to ask first. The local Riv dealer let me take it on a long test ride, so it’s not like I went in blind. Plans were to convert it from drops to upright anyway, so the bigger size would have been preferred. But then my living situation changed and my bike commute went from 4 miles to 13 miles and even though the 62cm was too big in derp bar form it was nicer to ride than the Space Horse, and that’s how I met the 58cm. The 62 was sold last year after not liking it in upright mode and the 58 is still around.
So far, the Rosco Platypus is really great, rides better than the Clem (the third of those three at the time), and I’m really vibing with not caring about riding such a dorky bike.
Definite scam.
What did you like about this bike?
Was this a canti version?
What kind of group and bits?
Keep in mind this was like 2009 or 2010 but if I recall correctly it had Dura Ace (10 speed?) with Dura Ace downtube shifters, a triple Stronglight crank, a Heine rando bar, twine and shellacked tape and non-aero Zeus brake levels. Basically it was an exercise of putting everything I thought was pretty on it. I also miss the cool head badge.
I liked the way the bike rode although I was not a connoisseur like I am now. A 62 cm bike was fine in terms of height but the top tube length was assinine at that size
I am really stretching to remember what was on there, I have a picture on my Flickr that would be more illustrative. I mean it’s not remotely even close to my current taste but it is very pretty
Clips no straps
there is a 56 for sale in my hometown. already has the mustache bars!!
Tell your dad to call Larry!
That’s my bike! Not sure what CC Bike Gallery is
I didn’t know WTF I was doing at that time
That is a nice looking bike.
