Riv does this as well. Three of the four Rivs I’ve bought brand new came dented or with chipped paint in ways that looked like it could only have happened during mfg / assembly.

if i were buying a bespoke $1800 rim brake kona dew and it showed up with dents i’d be sending that shit right back.

at least have the decency to bondo before painting.

…nways, new bike day continues:appears to be stock, save for the silly bars my friend put on them. p sure its a waterloo klein so not as coveted but with waterloo comes things like a standard 9/8 headtube and a threaded bottom bracket which is nice. how fucking stupid does that headtube look tho, jesus christ.but its a big, bulbous klein that ive wanted for a while, but might also immediately sell.

99% sure would have had Bontrager wheelie jawns. I sold these new and had a similar one myself. Dented the TT when I got off it once and went to lean it against a fencepost and it tapped the (round, wooden) post a bit too hard. Beer can head tube indicative of wall thickness of the rest of the tubeset!

the more I look at this bike the more I love it!

• 16 spokes front and rear
• bigass tubes but normie 9/8 headset because this was before bike companies would just go “fuck it, let’s make a new headset standard” once a year

Swap the wheels, fork (idk to what though) and cranks and you’ll have a bad ass cruiser atmo

I was on a fixed ride with his crew when I had my big fixie crash. A few people on that ride bought helmets after that, so I got that going for me, I guess.

They were in San Diego before Portland. Fixed scene here wasn’t cool enough, I guess.

He did have a crazy number of 90’s mountain bikes. The weirder the better. I wondered why he didn’t open up a museum, honestly.

… to consider this but im still a little scarred from my first pinch pot i tried to make senior year of high school, when it was all done i told my teacher “i think this might not be for me” and she didnt disagree. so i put that shit pinch pot on my mom’s mantle and wrote “pears, age 17” in little kids handwriting on the side, in attempts to use humor soften the blow of my newly found lack of skill.
