Are .22 more common than .177 over there?

.22 for BB guns, but pellet-only rifles are more commonly .177 here too

that trap looks awesome!

I wonder if I could mount one on my roof for Sky Burial

My dad got me one of those air rifles a while back and I never really shot it. I had a couple beers one time and snuck out in the back yard with it. I figured I could put a target on the cinder block container garden and try shooting that. Between the supersonic crack and the corner of a block it blew off, I decided to not engage in any more urban air gun shenanigans

Holy shit I’m buying that trap!

Pyramidair. I have a .22 cal air rifle with a night vision scope for ratting. Get at me. I have a Gamo Maxim Whisper with a Amazon night vision scope and I also have a target rifle Chinese air gun with a paintball gun air tank that holds 1100psi and can shoot 500 rounds before needing to get filled with the special floor pump we have.

What. The hell. You live in Eastlake!

I wish I had seen this trap two years ago when we were dealing with a rat problem at my place. It took soooooo fucking long to break their habit.

We had a rat problem a couple years ago due to a vacant house on one fence line and an unmaintained fruit tree on another fence line. The rats would use our yard to transport the fruit. My dog got a few of them, but then the skunks muscled them out.

Luckily, the vacant house finally got sorted and the skunks moved away before the dog could tangle with them.

$210 for a boost aluminum 29er hardtail with modernish numbers:

For as much as I mtb, I should buy something like that.

The orange is pretty great

I had a neon pink Scandal years ago. It was a really great bike except that the seatstay mounted caliper was unbraced and the thing juddered like a motherfucker. They’ve clearly solved that problem and I’d recommend that bike to anyone.

I am a part of Predator Free Brooklyn. They hand out free traps. There were no natural predators in NZ until whitey came, and brought in ferrets, stoats, cats etc which decimated much of our flight-less bird life. This map shows how many locals have a trap in their back yard. They have two typical mouse traps inside. A big one for rats and a little one for mice.

Ah, I wasn’t looking that closely, and just saw they were a month+ out on them.

Feel free to remove if this is the wrong place to ask, but: where’s the go-to online place for cheap Shimano stuff nowadays? Looks like bike24 won’t export to US anymore…

I live in greenlake and I have a rock wall backstop. The only danger is to myself or a window. I’m not a dickhead.

I was still in bed this morning when I heard my wife yell out. Yahoo! Went down to find a big grey rat sticking out of my trap. Peanut butter is what they like.

Peanut butter is what they like right now. Rats are very smart and you might have to change up your bait and your trap locations to scare them away. Think of it like we do with bike locks; It’s about the easiest target. The rats never really disappear entirely, they just find easier targets.
