heads up it comes in TAF colorway
those look cool but why the cuff?? who needs that feature?
Triathletes who donât want peepee in their socks?
My only thought was that it would keep rocks from getting in your shoe when grav gravving
Oh!
Cause of the gravel?
Itâs actually illegal to wear non gravel shoes on gravel
Whatâs worse is that nobody has figured out the right shoe for riding chipseal
Allroad shoes. 2.5 bolt, best of all worlds
2 bolt cleats only but smooth carbon soles, no lugs
Lugs on the side. For cornering.
I got the boring ones.
Likely no surprise to anyone.
Saw Fredâs TAF ones in person today and feel justified that they arenât for me.
Even the boring ones are pretty TAF atmo.
yeah the colorful ones were a no go for me
Good deal on those adidas however I think am legally obligated to give a powerful wedgie to anyone wearing shoes called The Gravel.
the reason i havenât purchased is they are pretty not-that-stiff on the shoe stiffness scale. iirc theyâre a 6 out of for some godforsaken reason 14. i donât love flexy shoes when on the bike
May I recommend my current shoe, Bontâs Vapor S. Holy moly the whole shoe is just super stiff in all directions.
TBH when MTBing my socks get filthy. When gravelling thru mud puddles or whatever I definitely get grit and dirt and pine needles, Iâm kinda stoked on the neoprene cuff.
For midfoot adhesive rubber, look up âtank gripsâ.
Something like this (or the actual TechSpec name brand stuff. "snakeskin is IIRC their thicker aggressive stuff thatâs most like shoe tread).
I saw that Five Ten has a new Kestrel Boa that is a XC shoe. No word on the sole stiffness. I was guessing itâs probably as flexy as the previous Kestrel.
The Kestrel last was way to narrow for my foot, though. I thought it would be similar to the Freerider, but was sorely mistaken.
i am always looking for ways to hold more heat in my shoe so maybe I should get these
The Bont âtubâ sole is kind of ridiculous. Pretty sure your pedal axles would deform before the sole wouldâŚ
