Well that’s a bummer.

It’s not ideal, but how robust are expecting a Bafang free hub to be? At least in this case you can throw a Shimano freewheel on there if it fails.

It just complicates future dithering since I was thinking about a 10 speed drivetrain with parts bin stuff.

I’ll probably still go check it out to make sure it fits first before spending money.

That’s true. Definitely limits drivetrain dithering.

Maybe that’s a positive tho

On of the bummers is that the freewheel looks like one of those goofy mega range ones, I figure there’s good odds my wife never even uses the granny gear so it may be a natural upgrade down the line

Although looking at how 11-28 and 11-34 freewheel cogs are spaced, maybe it doesn’t actually matter much lol

big steps between gears is great on a utility e-bike :atmo:

some amount of corner had to be cut to hit the msrp pricepoint. at sub bong prices i think thats pretty fair

the $1500 radpower chumpie is ss
the $2000 radpower chumpie is 7s freewheel with that godawful tourney shifter

they really did hit a mark with this one IMO. seems like maybe the world just wasn’t ready for it (if they are clearing inventory, anyway) like how we know the most about bikes but often make bikes that aren’t necessarily what the american people want

With the hub motor, people wont get to 13t, it seems. Just full blast the turbo.

enough people ran out of gears that they changed from 42 to 48t free of charge for existing owners. 20” wheel smol

You having a positive opinion about this bike after owning it for a while is a good sign.

I have no business looking at this thing or even a need for another bike, yet having a smaller ebike that doesn’t weigh 80 lbs is enticing.

sup owns it and loves it. i think it’s very cromulent as long as you aren’t looking for a high end ebike

The inside of the fork legs have mounts. In theory you could make struts that brace to the underside of the existing rack or

Oh wow I actually have one of those that I had completely forgot about. It’s at least worth a test fit but it is my wife’s bike ultimately

Tell me more about how to apply for this rebate…?
