I fucking love 7mesh’s stuff even at their high MSRP, and here it is on super-sale:

It’s always really unusual fabrics with complex patterning to make them sing

the women’s jackets are a particularly insane deal here, I would get some for myself but their tailoring is really probably too good to gender-swap

It the fit for Americans or Europeans?

fit’s kinda euro but it depends on the piece really

the complex patterning means that even form fitting stuff moves with you on the bike well and leaves room where it needs to be for bike specific stances

it’s real good quality, bunch of ex-arc’teryx folks who decided they wanted to launch bike specific stuff

Dammit, Fred’s posting of the 7mesh stuff got me looking at bikes there (they’re local to me), they have the Breezer Downtown EX in XL sizeway for $350 (don’t think they’ll ship). Hard to not consume.

Also, Excel Sports has a bunch of weird deals on some old Pinarello frames and complete bikes on their closeout page, some as old as 2004!

I’ve always been 7Mesh-curious, at those prices I ordered a short sleeve jersey, a wind jacket, and a rain shell. They’re wildly cheaper than the clearance Castelli jackets I usually get, and hte jersey looks like it might be nice.

thanks for pointing out the sale!

Thanks! I’m getting a jacket to fill the gap between borderline useless wind barrier and incredible waterproof black diamond moisture armor.

this exact garment is literally my favourite 7mesh thing I own! the “resistance” jacket. it’s a ridiculously lightweight windbreaker with fully taped seams. best parts of a wind shirt combined with the best parts of a UL rain jacket.

ugh none of these things have hoods tho!!

I want the guardian but that’s probably like their best-selling garment.

A hood? On a cycling jacket?

see that’s what I used to think but then I stopped riding road bikes and came to my senses.

Let’s hear some hood evangelism.

Druids had hoods

Where’s that Gizmodo or whatever tech blog article about the dude that bought that hood and just hated it.
