These are sorta OK, kind of. Messed with one on a Raleigh 29er I assembled for a buddy. The QLC axle is neat and entirely unnecessary. It’s got this weird double threading that can become hopelessly misadjusted if you’re not a little careful. The 29er version had some wild brake judder that might have been a quirk of bedding the pads in.
The reason I borked the axle was because the front hub actually had a single ball bearing out of place, stuck to the inside of the hub shell on a grease dollop. That caused the sensation of not being able to get the wheel in the fork tightly. Anyhoo, if things get weird holler at your boy.
