Fell off the bike a few days ago. What’s good in helmet tech? Does MIPS actually work? Should I get Giro MIPS?
Only if it fits. I have one and it’s nice, but more recently I purchased an Evade and the fit is so much better I forget how crappy it is for ventilation.
I just got a lazer z1 mips and it’s very breathy. Would buy again. But I have a very lazer shaped head.
Yes, but in this case it’s a local shop.
I just upgraded to MIPS, myself. Got a Giro Saga, and it seems nice. Don’t forget to cross shop women’s helmets. Better colors, deeper closeout discounts, same freaking helmets. Learned that when I bought a ladies Giro Ash in dark grey for way cheaper than a men’s Giro Aspect in light grey. Same same.
Give them a few more rides and it’ll feel better. At first it’s tough to get your foot in the right spot as it feels like it grips too well, but after a while they kinda break in and feel like magic. Eventually you end up with holes under where the pins go in…
here i do.
What do pubes?
@BicyclePears Pubes make a thing about the new lezyne cockpit holder
@BicyclePears deserves his own thread
But I don’t disagree. I’m always down for spicy bike memes.
Years back when I lived in a messenger house my roommate and I would hide the lezyne pump in his bedroom because we got tired of people fucking up their valves. It was a very busy house so it wasn’t like once in a while, it was like a couple times a day.
Somehow I’ve never had a problem with their pumps.
Shit, this reminds me. The guage blew up on my Classic floor drive (I think). As soon as you get over 20 PSI, the lens blows off and all the air flows out of the tire.
Feature?
I once had a little kid walk over and show me the BOA on her shoes; she was psyched that I had them too. It was super cute
you bought the Jan Heine edition of the pump. they only made about four and almost no one can buy one, but they’re sooooo smoooooooooooth.
yeah, i had one i kept at the track and i just painted real big “DO NOT USE” on it to try to prevent this, but fuckers would still try to use it and fuck up their valves.
i never unscrewed a valve, but i did manage to strip out the threads on the valve on my tubular with it.
The only Lezyne pump I’ve used is the mini one with the hose that lives in my repair kit, but I’ve never had any problem with it unscrewing the valve core. And even if it did, how hard is it to just screw the thing back in?
The Silca stuff is expensive, but their push-on presta chuck threads right on to the schrader side of the lezyne chuck…
Silca head on a non silca pump is a not so secret bicycle secret. Also something I’ve never done despite having a few old silca heads rolling around. I just can’t bring myself to cut off a perfectly functioning flip-lock head.
