Did you just ShartQ?

In general it’s just whatever side is higher, so if you need to detach the caliper end, maybe turn the bike upside down while you reassemble? Not sure where the bleeder screw is in relation to the caliper body but you may have to get creative when you reattach and bleed.

Just do it at the lever and take the extra 35 seconds to do a funnel bleed

How much of a pita is it to lengthen a hose on trp road brakes? I put slightly wider bars on my new cross bike and the rear hose is pretty snug when the bars are turned fully. It might never be a problem. Or it could be really bad with a single crash. Could too short cable irreparablly damage the lever or the caliper if it’s pulled too tight?

It could damage the lever, but it will more likely just kink the hose.

Replacing a hose isn’t that difficult, bleeding a dry hose just takes more time to get all the air bubbles out than bleeding an already wet system.

That said, I’ve never bled trp brakes in my life.

Cool, this corresponds with what others are recommending on YouTube, Didn’t realize it could be done easily with the funnel and lever flicking / tapping. Thought I would need to do the syringe at the caliper song and dance which I haven’t completely mastered.

I believe in tarck parlance the bleed funnel is called the Oil Toilet.

Assuming you have the hose cross in front of the headtube, could running it on the same side give you the extr length you need? I have my h/g run that way since the levers were on the coffeee grinder but was short crossing the headtube.

Is the hose under the bb shell? If it is, run it on top or if it runs along downtube, route it up the seatstay/top tube and zip tie it for now?

Try this stuff. Or I might have some spare hose you can grab. Oh wait that sounds bad. It’s lime green. Oh that sounds worse.

We need to see the bike, tarck will determine if lime green hose is good or bad.

It’s the purple one.
Rerouting is a good idea. Wish I’d thought of that before I just rewrapped the bars.

Possibly the worst picture of a bike ever posted on tarck

It’s at least a small part of nearly every bike I own. Except for the ones in the storage unit.
