Did you just ShartQ?

Sloppy, and with a 12mm axle.

Are 12mm caps available?

I assume they are.

If I’m actually a dumb ass (and lets be honest that’s probably going to be the case here) and bought a 15x100 front wheel and I’ve been riding it like that for a year without noticing I’m going to be impressed.

Oh wow, yea I’m impressed too

I went and reviewed my order and I specified a 12x100 front wheel. Either I got a 15x100 and never noticed, or something else weird is happening.

they’ll find your 12mm endcaps later when they go to put another customers wheel into a 15mm fork and realize the wheel has 12mm endcaps on it

This is what I’m thinking

I’d just be featherduster with them, ā€œI ordered the right thing, I’ve been riding it for a year. Any chance my end caps were swapped by mistake during the move or during the work?ā€

Oh for sure, I don’t think they’re being idiots or anything. I think it’s just a mix up and they called me out of an abundance of caution. I like everyone there so there’s no way I’d be a jerk about it anyway.

I haven’t swung by there yet anyway so maybe a 15mm end cap will actually fit in the fork and I’ve been lucky this whole time, who knows.

But now I’m just confused and bewildered.

Maybe they sent you a 15x100 front wheel with a 12mm adapter sleeve in the hub?

Hadn’t thought about that. That could definitely explain why I never noticed anything loose.

Some YouTube smartass i was watching last week was like, it’s probably not the bb

Pulled the cranks, swapped in my others, creak was still happening. Then i tried moving the bb with my hand

Hooray problem solved

That park tool chain breaker 3.2 came in today. Hell yeah serious piece of kit. Way bigger and biefier than I expected all for $20.

This 15x100 front hub fits this 12x100 fork just well enough for it to never be noticed.

They probably don’t make any dropper posts small enough for my Clyde’d Bridgestone that takes a 26.2 post, do they?

Interested solely for flat footing at stops with baby and cargo

That’s one of the topmost valid reasons to use a dropper shartmo

i wouldn’t have my clydesdale without one at this point. it’s too good.

This has applications ; )

I seem to have a headset on one of the kids bikes that is missing that upper split compression ring piece. Is this a thing shops have a bin full of or can I just order it without a whole headset? Doesn’t have a name? I swear I saw like 10 for $5 somewhere but I can’t find it now.

Edit: never mind, I searched the hoard harder and found one!

Alternatively how can I get more setback? Any seats with extra long rails? Might try one of my selle anatomcas but I think the riding position is too upright. And the extra-setback posts I know of won’t fit in this frame

Who was it that was having issues with a compression plug not staying put? @BEEutiful_Wednesday_DDS ?

Rodeo sent a Whisky compression plug with my Spork. After about 400 mi, it’s started backing out of the steerer. I don’t want to torque it too hard, for fear of splitting the steerer.
