Did you just ShartQ?

Easily, I did that on my old Peugeot. Was a doddle. The brakes were not even that shit.

surly krampus. ok bike or typical surly 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag?

deore 1x11, rigid, has a derper

What do you want to use it for and what’s the deal you found on it.

Just got new team kits and I don’t want to prematurely ruin them with all the times I need to pin them for cross. So I decided I’m going to try to use gear repair tape to reinforce the spots that get pinned through. A piece on both the inside and outside of each pinning location. I’ve got clear tape so it won’t be super obvious when I’m riding without a number on.

My question then becomes, when pinning a jersey with pockets, do you pin the number above the pocket or covering the pocket? It’s cross so I won’t need the pockets.

Actually, I think I just answered my own question while writing this because I realized tons of people put numbers on jerseys all the time for road events where they do use the pockets so obviously you pin above the pocket. Thanks Tarck!

Dude
I know bro
But it’s a new team and no one else wanted the proper attire.

I’m slowly introducing them to BLL.

All our local races just use ankle chips. Makes me realise I cant think of the last time I physically pinned a number on.

We have helmet chips, but they still make us pin numbers. Unsure why. Don’t think the officials actually keep track during the race.

Fold/trim number to be smaller and pin on top of pockets, thru elastic/stitching, no need for addl reinforcement?

Good idea.
But I already did it.
Looks ok. Will report if it still looks ok after tomorrow’s race.

Definitely visible, but better than holes. Never had a jersey this delicate before.

Cool shirt design.

There was a moment after forming the team that I realized I had no idea how we were going to design a kit. Then I remembered that one of the folks is actually a graphic designer. He did the logo. The rest is Sportful’s semi-custom design tool.

surely someone makes a product that uses magnets

I get a lot of ads on the gram for some sort of number pin alternative. The algorithm is failing because I’ve only worn a number once (in 1990) and don’t have any plans to wear one in the future.

Magnetic number pins are popular with rodeo riders, too. You can get bedazzled versions.

Race Dots says they’re UCI approved, but I can’t see how they’re any different from the stuff on Etsy or AliX.

Can’t imagine that magnets stay on during a crash.

can’t imagine pins do either! they never stay on for me when i crash

Valid point.

Anyone used the Blackburn Grid 40 rear light? In search of a rechargeable tail light that utilizes a usb-c connection.

Yeah, I’ve used a Grid 40 off and on for a little under two years now. It seems pretty bright for being only 40 lumens and is brighter off-axis than the other battery rear light I have (PDW Aether Demon). I don’t recall how closely it matches the spec’ed run time in solid mode, but it charges quickly enough for my short commutes.
