Did you just ShartQ?

Surly corner bar?

Probably the easiest route even though I don’t want it to be

With shimano, If you get 10 speed road shifters you will need a 9 speed rear mtb dangler. If you get 11 speed shifters you could try a 105 11 speed longer cage dangler if you can get one, but obviously, what every you do, shifter on the front has to match with cassette number. If you mix n match with sram, remember that x-actuation and exact-actuation dont play together.

It seems you’re already set on options, but if not this is another good one to toss in the mix. I used mine for basket packing for a couple years and then rando times. I’d offer to send it to you but I cut the tang off to mount on a carbon fork so it’s pretty much useless for normal mounting now.

Anyone have an opinion on the MRP Baxter gravel fork?

I’ve been riding my old and beat to shit Rockshox Recon Silver in 60mm mode all year and it’s been pretty good but has some stanchion damage that is getting worse and is now clearly affecting performance.

On paper it would be a direct drop-in for fork height/offset with little change to the bike’s geometry so no problem there.

That looks interesting. The photo makes it look like it sits well above the tire. Is that the case?

The GRX 10 speed is 11 speed road pull. You’d either want to Tanpan the MTB derailleur, or get the GRX model that clears your big cog, or an SRide 520c if Soma has a big discount code.

Oh dang I think you’re right, my bad. I forgot one of the reasons I cut the tang was to get it closer to the 700cx38 on my gravel bike. The height wasn’t an issue when I had it on my bikepacking bike with 29x2.6.

This is after I cut it down, in stock form it would be around 2.5-3 inches above the tire/fender.

For what it’s worth Microshift Advent X / Sword brifters will shift Shimano dynasys (mountain) 10 speed. And I know a guy with Advent X brifters he’d sell you. :relieved:

Wet road levers but not shakes? What’s gonna shift the rear mech?

Like these plus thumbies?

Had these been in stock at the time this is what I would have had on my Evasion

The SLX shifter that’s already there

With something like this?

Honestly I have thought that far yet. Plan isn’t even half baked, it’s still just batter. Figured I’d keep derper lever and shifter on the bar top, though.

As much as I dislike the aesthetics, the Corner Bar will probably win.

For making your Eagle bike shift like with that Rivendell steeze.

Yeah I can’t picture this in a way that isnt terrible. Drop bar with with 31.8 adapters for a mtb shifter pod and dropper lever mounted next to the stem? Shimano road levers just so you can re-use the deore calipers but not the STI for shifting? Use a left grx lever for dropper and the right STI with some shiftmate thing to work with the existing mtb dangler? Or go 1x11 with the correct GS road dangler and cassette? TRP hylex with a friction bar end shifter? Maybe a Kelly Take-Off with a DT shifter? Surly corner bars? Please make it stop.

I used the Pauls one of these adaptors but it didnt last long. Pain in the ass. I think my dither-path was:
3x 9 speed shimano tiagra?
Bar end shifters
Pauls adaptor 1x10 speed sram
Sram red 10 speed 2x
Sram red 11 speed with bar end 3x (current).

hey lets stop talkin about how the world is ending (it is) and get back to my titanium bicycle saga.

original owner sent me a pretty extensive list of all of the components that were on the stolen bike, along with the police report. i forwarded them on to paypal in a possibly futile effort to get my money back. i think i mentioned it above but i told them i am now unwilling to return the bike (to the thief) in light of this new shit.

$7,900 build. for a hardtail that’s not even made by a recent yamaguchi school grad! what a world.
