Did you just ShartQ?

Replace “flexi-post” with “bollard.” Point out the bollards would also keep someone from crashing a car into the front door of the school, and they might go for it!

Is the area beyond the speed bump wide enough to have:

thru lane | drop-off pull-over area | bike lane

Also, https://streetmix.net/ is a useful tool for illustrating cross-sections (rather than my ascii art above)

@Rusty_Piton do you use discord? the chibike discord has a bunch of folks involved with safe streets planning or at least seemingly good at giving their inputs and might be a good resource

Sounds like the DC Family Biking chat group I’m in. Half of us work in transportation one way or another

Take out the word “terrible”. Own that shit.

I know this isn’t ok, but just asking for a possible opinion. Was having a lot of friction from my dia comp v brake lever swap, and for s&g’s I tried a derailleur cable and got great motion and the head actually held. It’s not on a bike that features gnar breaking so I feel like it could be ok, but I’d appreciate a track opinion.

the braking will be fine up until the head pops off and then it won’t be fine, it will be far from fine.

Brakes r for fakes

I think finding the source of the friction and addressing it with a file or whatever is a much smarter option.

Yeah, was just hoping for a quick fix, but knew better.

Got right hooked, stayed up, took the brunt of it with my shoulder but scraped the side of my helmet against the car. Got checked out, no concussion or anything, just a bit sore.

ShartQ is this damage really worth replacing a helmet for? It’s mostly just a scrape but there’s a couple divots

They don’t rate helmets for car impacts, so?

If that was a DH helmet, I’d probably shrug it off. How does the shell/lining interface look in that pocket above the “TECTAL” logo? If there’s any separation, it’s probably done.

Totally fine. Can’t feel any separation in the layers no obvious deformation in the foam lining.

Though guess it’s not an outrageously expensive helmet to begin with so maybe I should just replace it anyway.

I’d replace it

If you’re worried about if you should replace it or not you should just replace it.
