I like ergon as well. Sometimes I look for fancier versions. The lower spec ones are comfy but kind of heavy.
the best part of the b17 being your saddle of choice is that all other saddles weigh less. except of course other brooks saddles with more sproing boing.

I am not sure about this exposed plastic undercarriage on these style saddles.
I have a knock off that annihilated my thighs mountain biking (i.e. saddle coming into contact with thighs in unplanned ways). I thought that the original version did not have it exposed. Maybe it is less pronounced.
shartmo that is definitely ymmv territory as it depends on specific saddle shape/position as well as your body but I donât have that issue, though I noticed rub in that area with the fizik argo
Pro-Tip: The womenâs Ergon SMC Sport Gel saddle is quite comfortable.

i have these on like every bike now except my gravel bike as the one that it came with actually was OK enough.
i am cheap so i buy the basic heavy one
Itâs not rub. Itâs random smashing and scraping when riding a 120mm travel bike on trails where one would be better off with a 160mm bike. I put that saddle on my road going bike and it has faded into the background of my bicycle riding.

I briefly tried the womenâs model, and it was surprisingly comfortable.
Iâve been riding Specialized Avatar Comp Gels 155m for 15+ years, and I fear the day one of them breaks and I have to start looking at saddles again.
