You are really helpful!! Yeah, I’m in the market for a second road bike and thought an open mold might be the way forward because it is inexpensive and shares a similar geometry with the high-end stuff. I have a Cannondale Caad which fits beautifully. I can ride for hours at a time without much discomfort so if there’s a discount at the end of the year I’ll probably get another.
I’m sorry…but why do you want/need more than one road bike?
Just why…? You already have a perfectly good Caad so.
I mean buy another bike like the gods intended, preferably a mountain bike.
DQ: good wall mount for bikes? will these be fine?
this seems like one of those things someone here has done extensive testing with
I put up a few Feedback Velo hinge hooks in our garage, they’re nice for saving a bit of space compared to normal storage hooks.
ooo these are sweet.
currently plan it to mount hooks to a pretty board, which will then be attached to studs.
Some folx feel the same about mountian bikes.
Idgi.
At least make a second drop bar bike a disc brake fat tire meanderer, not like California is lacking in high quality non-roads
I want to see if I can build something like this bike wardrobe when I redo my bike garage.
Ha! I know right? To keep it brief I think it’s the idea of a second road bike that I’m attracted to. There’s something that is enjoyable or liberating about riding without a Garmin and power that I’m unable to find the words for.
Hmmm, perhaps future me will purchase a mountain bike because lately I have been eyeing the shit out of a Salsa Timberjack.
this is so sick
@turpentine do this in your garage
More than one road bike:
Crits
Long day in saddle
Possibly a bit of dirt and gravel
Time trial
Do it all road bikes are like do it all mountain bikes: they don’t do any one thing all that great
Holy shit. Looking at unistrut parts now.
This is a very strange and alien perspective on mtb’s… ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Love this.
Also, supwief went to college with him so we’ve hung out a few times and I had no idea he was a bike nerd
I mean you could always leave the garmin back at home, then you don’t have a clue about power or anything. But yeah…
With you living where you live I don’t see the need for anything +tyres really, I’d test ride something a tad more progressive than the Timberjack. Like Specialized’s new Fuse. I can with 100% security guarantee that you will absolutely love mtb-life.
Hmm.
1, plus
1 with fat tires because that’s the 650b fashion, plus
1 sweet fixie, plus
1 3 speed, plus
1 di2 1×11 machine, plus
1 low trail machine, and
the Trek 1000, because it was my first serious bike 30 years ago.
That type of storage system has been around for years - Saris Cycle Glide
I did the overhead storage at my old place, but I got a saddle in the face more than a few times. I like the single hook idea, better. My current setup is a 2x4 with a bunch of hooks evenly spaced.
There’s also a wheel hanger that swivels, but it mounts on the wall.
My garage door is currently broken and I have a 3d printer coming. But oh my god the free time. When is winter?
Unistrut is amazing. Of course they already make a trolley.
