Did you just ShartQ?

370 is pawls. I think maybe the 1800 wheels too? I get that they do it for pricepoint, but’s kinda dumb how it dilutes people’s perception of the hubs.

I converted a 370 to a 350.

It’s a 420 now

PS if anyone else wants to do it, I have the tools you need to take the hubs apart.

These are the thing to take the pawl ring out of the shell and put the hub side ratchet in?

As a man of some substance, I’m star ratchet all the way (350 is star ratchet). I slip pawls occasionally on other hubs, nbd but somewhat annoying.

Exp has had some issues with the sprung side of the system getting stuck. Allegedly limited to a specific batch and DT is pretty fast to assist.

18 or 36t star ratchet is damn near impossible to ruin.

The bearings in the 240 level bodies are much smaller, and therefore more fragile, compared to the 350 bodies though.

Looks to me like the 350s were made intentionally heavier so as not to cannibalize the market for 240s. AKA, I wish they were lighter and for no good reason.

yeah and the pair of tools was annoying to buy for a job I was realistically going to do once so I’m happy to mail them around to spare that fate for others.

So yeah.

But also the 240 ratchets are “hollow”, the machining on the hub shell is more complex and if I recall so is the axle.

So I think it’s more that DT made a really really good hub Hugi->350 and said “hey it’s really good but if you want it to be lighter it’s gonna cost you”.

What’s the closest I can find to a zero rise Ritchey Kyote?

@halbritt, can you confirm?

Assuming I go purple, does anyone have any fun decal ideas?

Also, how does one ask for metal sparkle?

salsa bend?

I’ll look later today. Haven’t really messed with it, but I assume drop in bearings.

Email Wing and ask her. I get the impression they’d be willing to do just about anything.

Tarck is about aesthetics:

Bib straps over/under base layer?

I always did over, because it was one fewer layer to remove to poop

Base layer is the base layer

I asked this question a few months ago after I saw an ad with someone wearing their base layer over their bib straps. Suddenly my entire worldview was called into question. Thankfully Tarck helped me understand that I have, in fact, been doing it right all these years.

Speaking of which I need to buy some winter gear
