Did you just ShartQ?

Are Alfines robust enough for ebike applications ?
Is the 8 speed better than the 11 ?

I wouldn’t put power through any IGH.

On my 11 I need to basically stop pedaling to shift or it sounds like I’m breaking everything.

can you apply tinted powder clear coats over raw metal? or do these top coats require a base?

You can, I got tinted purple powder on a bike a while ago. The clears don’t adhere as well as opaque colors to the base metal though so less durable and more likely to get rust spreading underneath.

Yes

Clear powder over raw won’t last long.

The translucent purple finish on my v1 HG was not very durable at all.

The ugliest quill stem on Earth, the Profile H2O, has a removable face plate. I have a zero degree 100mm jobber in the bin, I think.

It’s great :+1:

I absolutely relish the ability to cheaply run 46-30 rings on normal easily available cranks

There are definitely some limits to these rings. First off, on a road chainline crank with a GRX pusher they won’t work. They sit too far inboard for the pusher to down shift.

They work best with a crank that has a wider chainline. I’ve assembled a few cranks using mtb arms with a road spider + these rings.

I had solid results with Sram pushers and road chainline cranks.

Side note…. The Absolute black take on this that fits 4 arm Shimano cranks works really well too.

I don’t recall where I saw this, but somewhere online an LvH dealer mentioned you needed to dial down the STEPS torque settings to run with Alfine 11 (and not kill it)

Our eBullit has a Nexus 5 which suggests it is designed for eBike usage.

I’m seriously considering building a ss wheel for my Bullitt. Should I go for it?

that’s what I want black/rainbow sparkle to look like always, I feel like it never has enough rainbow in practice

ok are the replacement struts for PDW full metal fenders just super long? are you supposed to trim them to fit? did they just send me the wrong size?
