I also use the knurled nuts, I think mine are campy though. They were a real tight fit in my old 7600 cranks but they don’t bite as much in my vision track cranks so I kept the tool in my bag just in case one spun on me. I could never bring myself to epoxy the backs in like some guys do.

Speaking of tools, does anyone have a English bottom bracket chase and tap tool they’d be willing to lend me for the cost of shipping? (like the BTS-1) and if I fuck em up I’ll buy new taps?
Really want to clean up some threads on a few frames and want to get the satisfaction of doing it myself but not $600 worth of satisfaction (or $400 for the unior version)

SQ: I haven’t ridden one of my bikes for 4 months and it has tubeless tires, sealed with Orange Seal Endurance. I’ve spun the wheels like every few days and somehow they still have like 30-40 PSI in them! Do I need to add more sealant before I ride again.

Rob favors the HIA Velo race disc fork, which if I recall correctly is only 320 g (100 g less than Enve) and looks nice too. I am not sure how available it is but I can ask Rob if he is able to get one for you. They are $600 so in-line with Enve.

I do and I am willing. I won’t need them for at least another month. I have cyclus ones. Would be shipping from Canada though so if a US tarcker can come through it would cost you less.

Air down. Position valves at 6 o’clock. Remove valve cores. Use a zip tie like a dipstick to check if there’s still wet sealant in there. If no, add some. Cores back in and air up. Beads probably won’t break loose and require re-seating.

Do you just need to chase? I have the same Cyclus taps as Rauce and don’t expect to need them in the short term and I’m in there US

I’ll put it out there that I also have the cyclus Italian taps with their own set of handles if anyone ever needs to borrow them. I’ve used them like twice in 4 years on frames I did repairs or refinishing on…

I have used my chainring bolt tool many times. Just not many times on chainring bolts.

@anon71759125 I also have english taps, facing tools etc if you want to ship them from/to Cincinnati. I don’t plan on building any frames in the foreseeable future. I have all the other frame building tools too if anyone wants to build a frame or something.

You could use the dipstick method or… I get the valve at 6 o’clock, extract any sealant with a syringe, then fill to desired level of sealant.

For example, I usually run around 60ml in my 30-40mm tires. If I extract 20ml, I tap the air out of the syringe, add 40ml of new sealant and put it back in the tire.

My tubeless is giving me the shits right now on my Open. Everytime I go for a ride I have to add 15 psi to the rear wheel. But the worst thing is that the valve end is siezed so I have to use pliers to unjam them. Better make sure my pliers are in my kit I guess.

Replace the valve and check/top off sealant.
