Did you just ShartQ?

SQ I’m thinking about ordering one of those combo folding locks from Europe… I know they use commas for decimal points, is there anything else I should know about European numbers before I do this…

just remember it seems volatile but this handy formula will make it easy.

(X€*9/5) + 32 = usd

Euro numbers are base 10 metric so easy to count (vs your imperial base 12)

$144 barely even gets you a rod of beef these days. and don’t even get me started on the price of a furlong of bread

is this also the thread for soliciting cycling product recommendations? is there any reason not to buy the garmin edge 130?

As a long-time Garmin user, I can finally say that Garmin products are no longer shit and in fact are probably best in class. Took them long enough!

I haven’t used the 130 but I have a friend who has one, he said that it is good enough for basic functions but the navigation features are comparatively not great, as you would expect since it is teeny tiny

Also depending on the number of data fields you want to see, the screen is awfully small

ya OP tell us yer use-case

An American billion is a Euro milliard. So a euro billion is an American trillion. Naturally, a billiard (a million milliards) is a quadrillion (a thousand trillion).

i have an ancient garmin 500 that worked quite well for me over the years, but i’m giving it to my partner to use with her new power meter and capture rides.

i don’t plan on using navigation (but might?) and i like the idea of being able to display some of Xert’s proprietary metrics like MPA which the 130 will do.

I have this gizmo. It works great for keeping track of my miles. Haven’t tried it for navigation or anything. I’d recommend it.

DQ: I’m gonna put the stop sauce into the newly elongated tube for the front brake on my Bullitt. I have like a 2oz bottle of the stuff. Will that be enough to fill a long ass tube?

i chose the elemnt over the 130 because the app and the way that the map is rendered. map is most important to me but its worth thinking about if you plan to use the nav features

I recently brought a second hand edge 510, not realizing that they don’t do maps! It Never occurred to me that a gps wouldn’t have maps.

Anyway, against best practice I generated some maps to put on it, just because I like doing dumb shit. The polygons showed up but no roads or anything. I know there are some gis/mapping gurus in tarck so if someone wants to tell me how to get started on diy map dithering, let me know. Apparently the Fenix watch maps are tiny?

this is why i gave my old 510 to heath

I don’t know the answer to this (but i think it’s fine)

but replying to say that last time I did it I took the lever + caliper off the Bullitt and mounted on a handlebar attached to workstand set at max height, letting the caliper hang to the ground and the front brake feels tons better than when i tried to bleed on the frame.

To be honest, I just wanted it for strava uploads as my phone is killing about 40% of them. I got two Etrexes already with maps. But my latest complete WOFTAM will be trying to convert a reenactment wireless Powertap to Garmin ANT, which kind of ties in with the 510 too. Who knows how to hack firmware?

No longer shit? Maybe.

Best in class? No.

what should i get instead?

Wahoo anything. A lezyne if you’re a fucking cheapskate.
