Did you just ShartQ?

Naw, that’s a dither block. I have most of the parts already and the bikes all external routed so not much of a headache. Also, not super into steel bars tbh.

Darts have worked great for me!

Oh you’re interested in dithering? And you have most of the parts for a drop bar conversion? You should get a frame to put them on

I’m with Dan, there’s a bunch of of sub bong options for “gravel” bikes that kick ass. If not for this race maybe later!

Looking at truck bed bike mounts. Any recs? Looks like there are qr ones and ta ones?

What about a tailgate pad? Climbing into the back of the truck to partially disassemble the bike that otherwise might just be placed in the bed/over the tailgate never made much sense to me.

I guess some of the racks might be a little more secure theft wise, but the pads seem like they leverage the benefits of a truck a little better and are more flexible

Well I have a camper shell on the truck

How many bikes are you trying to carry?

Two

Hmm. I think I’d DIY it with some mounts on a piece of plywood or something. I’m seeing TA and QR bolt on mounts for $20-$40, then it come out of the truck when you don’t need it, you could put bikes on it bars facing aft and slide em under the camper rather than have to climb in.

Or a hitch mounted tray rack but if you’re in and out of the bed a lot it might get annoying

I didn’t have a chance to use them much before I got rid of my truck but these worked okay: https://a.co/5dMmG2k

Probably won’t work with your camper shell though.

This is my setup, but it’s kinda janky. I made it with spare rack parts I already had:

If I was going to do it again, I’d get the Rocky Mounts track and Drop Top, potentially with a slider.

I have a sheet of osb in there now to cover up the rust holes lol. So I can screw them straight into that. Come to think of it, I doubt our mtbs would even fit side by side in there without the handlebars turned to the side. Then they might hit the back glass. Which would make the ta issue irrelevant. Our road bikes are qr. I guess I need to see what the bikes look like it there. Definitely mount them up facing the back.

I have a few QR ones you can have for free + shipping.

Folks who wear glasses, what do you do to ride in the rain? Is there a solution or do you accept that you won’t see half the shit in front of you any any given time?

i also just used hat but it wasn’t perfect. i say “used” and not “use” because the real solution to the problem of riding in the rain with glasses is move to california where it doesn’t rain
