So, if I wanted to make some carbon single wall rims with some kind of textured brake surface for personal useā€¦ Where do I start? Gonna need a mold of some kind, small 3d sections that all link up to each other?

SQ: Whereā€™s the best place to get spokes now that my LBS is closed? They used to sell them to me at $1/spoke and the one time I went to a different LBS, I showed up and they were like thatā€™ll be $96 please. Three bucks a spoke!

Oh good thought. I never got to know that guy because all the cool messbro types who always hung around his shop intimated me. Iā€™d be fine now that Iā€™m an old guy exuding dad energy.

Our buddy Sam who owns Macks Bike N Goods in Evanston has a spoke cutter. They wont be $1 though. He will do them for $2 per spoke so a little better than $3. What shop has a spoke cutter that you went to? And why didnt you make Mark a generous offer for his cutter?

Mark was doing me $1 spokes.
I asked him about the spoke machine and he told me he was keeping it because it was a collectorā€™s item. :colbert:

Love it. He seems like a cool quirky dude. My allergy and his shopā€™s cat infestation has also kept me outa there. Lots of cats. So many cats.
Probably not as bad now that I wear a mask everywhere.
