As a child, I couldn’t pronounce the letter “R” correctly. I got over that particular speech impediment, but still get a touch of anxiety over pronouncing certain words. “Brifter” is basically the worst collection of sounds imaginable in that regard.

Shakes for life.

Brifter still seems like the product of the boomer lexicon… “SWMBO hasn’t figured out I bought new DA brifters for my USPS Madone.”

Abominations. Downtube shift levers or gtfo. Goes great with a helmet mirror.

It was always so forced in usage. Like, obviously your Pinarello doesn’t use downtube shifters, but thank you, I was going to be confused without an asinine portmanteau.

I feel like I shouldn’t be asking this question, but… Is there a fix for the return spring cap that always breaks on Shimano cantilevers?

i’ve always used a sturdy zip tie

I’ll have to check to see if they still make them, but for years Shimano made spares because they ALWAYS break.

no fucking way. they made spares?

are we talking about this brake?

if so color me amazed. i don’t think i ever actually looked
