Not to mention the engine has very noticeable gyroscopic affects.
I own some of these booksā¦
Ok⦠so currently have Shimano 10speed road shifters pulling on a 9 speed Deore dangler⦠but not taking advantage of the increased wrap because road cassettes only go to 36ā¦
Is there a way for me to get a bigger cassette on their without changing the system?
Would this microshift guy work or is that thing mountain spacing?
Itās possible. Iāve seen a few cases now with newer mid-tier Shimano danglers that the upper pulley will sit too close to the largest cog (even with b-tension maxed) when you go more than 2 teeth beyond Shimanoās rating.
Someone will say ātail hook lengthenerā which is worth a shot, but in a few cases now I have seen that there is a in-between zone where the dangler alone does not work, and the tail hook jobber pushes things too far away and upshifting struggles significantly.
So yeah, I guess this is not very helpful.
YMMV.
I should just buy grx cranks for both my endpoints and go from 36 to 30 on the little ring. That would get me into the same range as a 48 cog yeah?
Yes. Throw money at the situation!
Ehh a new crankset is cheaper than new chainrings somehow so maybe Iāll just do that next time they wear out.
The older Shimano mountain derders can clear +2T with a longer B screw. The road jawns get really cranky in the upper pulley area, and the B screw doesnāt get you the clearance.
The geniusās at a few companies have been speccing 11-34 with Sora and the pulley just gives the largest cog a little kiss no matter what.
Itās JUST enough to annoy the tech but nobody riding has noticed.
Anyone have any experience or even seen one of these?
I contacted them last year and it wasnāt compatible with my bike. Ended up going with a Works unit and am pretty happy with it.
Iām trying to see if I can get my Lynskey slightly more slack. It has an IS headset and a 71.5 degree headtube.
I think youāre stuck if itās an IS headset.
ZS and EC give you enough room with the cups.
Thatās why I asked about the one I linked above, supposedly works with IS
Oh, I see. Itās like a Wheels MFG BB. My mistake.
I guess that could work. Itās raising the headtube instead of offsetting the fork.
Actually, it appears to also be offsetting the bearings, similar to an angleset.
Dang interested in trying this out on my xprezo
16 size ranges across four headtube standards?
and then 1mm size increments within those ranges? this is truly dithering!
Iām hoping to measure the bearing depth on my frame today and make sure I have compatibility. Some dude on BCC has installed a fair number with no real complaints. If it works, I think it will make my 2015 Lynskey a bit chiller and more fun.
