Okay so the issue seems to be that my feet have spread a lot, which makes sense because I’ve largely moved to “barefoot” shoes this year.

Traditionally I have very narrow feet so this is a new world for me. Who makes a wide toe box spd shoe? i think I remember you were also wearing the same merrell gloves as me?

What size are your feet, I have some Lakes that I’ll give away

…800, which is not giving me all of it. To be clear, I think what’s needed here is a wider toe box, not wider shoes. I accidentally ordered a “wide” version of the Shimano RX800 and returned them because they were too wide in the midfoot.I’ve had a web page open on my desktop the past couple weeks with a list of Bont dealers near me. I intend to go try on some and see if they don’t squish my toes.

I have also had issues with RX800 after switching from XC7. The toe box is slightly narrower causing pain on the outside of my midfoot on long rides. On a whim I ordered some Bont Riot shoes and so far, so good. I definitely don’t have a wide foot but either I have become more sensitive to toe box shape or my feet have changed some. The latter being likely.

If things go well I’ll probably break down and get some of the fancy reflective ones.

My Lakes are white/black and size 10.5/43.5 (road) if anyone would like to try them. If you LMK today they can be shipped tomorrow.

They are very nice shoes and virtually new, like no scratches on the bottom. As I think I discussed elsewhere my fucking feet grew and now I am an 11 and these are a tight 10.5.

i refuse to accommodate the idea that my feet can grow. i have a lot of very expensive footwear here!

In total since about 20 years ago my feet grew from a 9.5 to 11.0

Speaking of which I think we discussed me sending you all of my very fancy non-fitting business shoes? Are you roughly a 10.5?

Also seriously if anyone wants the Lakes LMK because I have a window of opportunity to ship tomorrow
