Disco Slippers

I’ve got stupid hobbit feet and am doing okay with NorthWave. Shimano used to work for me but they either changed the last or my feet have done what yours have done.

Bont?

I’m suspicious of Bont’s sizing. Supposedly a 50 is a US 14.

I’d rather error on the side of too big, but that seem huge.

FWIW, I used their printout size guide and it was bang on.

Solved my outer mid-foot problems that cropped up when I went from older XC7 to RX8 Shimano’s.

Old shoe new shoe. 3 years of near daily use

Disco Slippers DQ:
what happened to the Sidi caliper buckle?

They seem to have discontinued replacements.

They should make shittier shoes if they expect me to replace the whole shoe.

I’ve been struggling with Morton’s Neuroma over the past couple of years (always gets aggravated after a ride) and finally decided to splurge on these Lake CX242’s in wide.

Not perfect but dramatically better than any other slipper I’ve ever tried. Wish I’d splurged sooner. Recommended for anyone with thicc feet.

I’ve been resisting after squashing me feets into Sidi for years but this may be the push I need…

I tried bont’s and lakes and the wide sidis are the only ones I have made work?

I think one thing that helps with these lake cx242 is that they’re split into smaller separate panels. Makes them contour and adapt a little more flexibly to foot shape than a single panel construction.

But YMMV. My feet still hurt like a MF at the end of a ride but much less than with previous options.

waterproof MTB shoes?

Not a carbon sole stiff thing, more like a trail shoe? Bonus if it has real tread on the sole.

is easier to find a sock?

There are a few flat soled bois. Fizik, Shimano, and Leatt have one. There’s also the venerable Five Ten Trail Cross. Endura used to make a neoprene bootie for flats.

I have mixed feelings about socks. If it’s wet enough that your rain pants might fail, there’s a good chance your socks will fill up with water. You can use a neoprene cuff like a scuba cuff, or GripGrab makes one. That helps a bit. At least if your shoe fills with water, you can dump it out pretty easily.
